The water theater is not continuous. It is called. A horn, then bronze, then the axis in spray.
Shows are kept short so the stone can rest and the crowd can hear the water start. The next performance is counted on the terrace card. If you arrive between shows, the basins are a mirror. That is the other half of the composition.
